Leos Carax's filmography opens with a trilogy that has become legendary. Shot in black and white, Boy Meets Girl (1984), with actors Mireille Perrier and Carax's alter ego Denis Lavant, evokes silent cinema, the world of Jean Cocteau, and the work of Jean-Luc Godard. Regarded by critics as the heir of the New Wave, Leos Carax continued with The Night is Young (1986), featuring a trio of unforgettable actors, Denis Lavant, Michel Piccoli, and Juliette Binoche.


Marion Cotillard
