Le Créative Lab North America

The 8-day program in New York and Montréal is made up of the following units:

The training sessions, led by prestigious professionals from the New York and the Montréal area, give the participants tools for a successful development in the United States by addressing the following topics:
• Methods of expansion in the United States, conducted by Business France and by experts in corporate law, accounting, recruitment
• PR Strategy/Marketing
• Fundraising strategy in the US

The workshops are the opportunity for the participants to work concretely on their projects, with the support of many mentors:
• Pitch Preparation and feedback after every public pitch
• Design Thinking to rethink their service/product and adapt it to American consumers
• Marketing Strategy to define their goals and their market positioning in order to be able to implement an efficient launch strategy on American soil

The guest speakers, leaders of the cultural and creative industries sector, share their inspiring experience with participants. Speakers from the previous editions included Sree Srenivassan (CDO of New York City and ex manager of the Met Museum Digital Lab), Xavier Hansen (Verizon envrnmt) and Alban Denoyel (Sketchfab).

The off-site visits organized at iconic cultural and/or tech companies enable an immersion in the local ecosystem, discovering the latest innovation trends. Visits of the previous editions included Google Zoo, Technicolor, Youtube, Samsung Next and Kickstarter.

The networking events provide the participants with the opportunity to broaden their network with local entrepreneurs and to present their projects in front of an assembly of professionals, investors, and media throughout three pitch sessions (an evening event with French entrepreneurs based in NYC, a Demo Night in NYC, and a Closing Party in Montréal).

The personalized one-on-one business meetings, organized with the help of the Cultural Services and Business France on specific time slots, offer the participants the opportunity to meet institutions from the cultural and creative sector and big companies in order to find potential partners and clients.

The individual check-in with an Export adviser from Business France, six months after the program ended, provides the participants with counselling and medium-term guidance during the next steps of their development in North America.

The participants benefit from a workspace hosted by VentureOut (NYC) and by HUB Lab (Montréal) during their stay.
