Concerts In September

On Wednesday September 16th, Boston will be welcoming Louisahhh!!!, a New York-bred, Paris-based artist whose flair for bouncing techno and low, brooding baselines will make this night a night to remember.

On Friday September 18th, French DJ and producer Zimmer will make Wonder Bar the place to be.  His body-warming, feel-good music, which combines his Parisian and Californian origin, will make you want to stay and listen all night.

Also on Friday September 18th, Belgian singer and songwriter Stromae will light up Boston's famous House of Blues.  With his well-renowned singles Alors On Danse and Papaoutai, among many others, he has created a name for himself in the hip-hip and electronic music genres.

On Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th, Malian artist Vieux Farka Touré will take the stage to perform his eclectic repertoire of blues, reggae, soul, and Malian folk music.  After being invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, he performed alongside artists such as Shakira and Alicia Keys.

On Tuesday September 22nd, the eleven musicians making up the group Fanfarai will bring their cultural diversity to the stage and immerse the audience in a rousing and emotional musical ambience.  Combining saxophones, congas, trumpets, and trombones with regional instruments such as the Ghaita and the Tbilette, they will play North African music no one has ever done before.

On Friday September 25th and Saturday September 26th, French-Algerian artist Pierre Bensusan will perform his assortment of acoustic guitar music, which is most often characterized as having Celtic, Folk, World music, New Age, and jazz themes. His first album, Près de Paris, won him the Grand Prix du Disque at the Montreux Festival, and he has, since then, come out with more than 10 other albums.
