Jazz à Vienne Festival 2018 - 38th Edition

Jazz à Vienne Festival 2018: June 28 - July 13

Founded by Jean-Paul Boutellier in 1981, Jazz à Vienne Festival has been at the heart of jazz celebrations in southeastern France, near Lyon. Every year, over 200,000 festivalgoers flock to see 1,000 artists performing on 4 stages. The unique acoustics and rich history of the Roman Theatre, the Festival's signature stage built in 1st AD, create an unparalleled experience for both the audiences and the artists. 200 out of the 250 concerts and events provided at the Festival are free, held either at the Cybèle stages or at JazzMix / Club de Minuit.

In 2018 for the 38th edition, established and emerging artists are featured in the line-up, including Chérif Soumano & Sébastien Giniaux, Christian Sands Trio, Yazz Ahmed, Toronzo Cannon, Mammal Hands, Malka Family, Selah Sue, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Ron Carter, Marcus Miller, Sofiane Saidi & Mazalda, Ruty Rusthon, Vels Trio, among others. In addition to the staged performances, the Festival offers a wide range of community engaging projects, such as Young Public Creation concert for 6,000 local children, Académie Jazz à Vienne shows, RéZZo FOCAL competition, and concerts at the Musée de Saint-Romain-en-Gal.

To further expand its impact, the Jazz à Vienne Festival has established solid partnerships with various international institutions: Festi Jazz de Rimouski (Québec), Tokyo Jazz Festival (Japan), Sampa Jazz (Brazil), and X Jazz Festival (Germany).
