Jazz in Marciac 2018

Jazz in Marciac 2018: July 27 to August 15

Established in 1978 by André Muller, Bill Coleman and several of his fans, Jazz in Marciac is a three-week festival that takes place from late July to mid-August near Toulouse in southwestern France. More than 200,000 visitors from around the world flock to attend this legendary musical event every year.

During the festival, a giant marquee with about 6,000 seats is set up in the main square of the village. Concerts are held in the evening, and many village restaurants and taverns offer special meals accompanied by musicians. Over the years, numerous internationally renowned musicians have performed at the festival, including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chick Corea, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Diana Drall, Nina Simone, John Zorn, and many more.

This year, Jazz in Marciac provides stage for artists from diverse backgrounds, including 18-year old French trumpet player Lucienne Renaudin Vary, avant-garde music pioneers the Debussy Quartet, Grammy Award winning Cory Henry, Polish bassist, the country’s rising star of jazz and blues Kinga Glyk, and so on.
