Since 1982, the Fête de la Musique has been celebrating the summer solstice, offering free concerts in the streets, bars or restaurants everywhere in France. It has now evolved into a global music festival, taking place in over 100 countries.

This year, the Fête de la Musique returns for its 20th edition in Miami in partnership with the Cultural services of the French Embassy, and the Rhythm Foundation. Several events will take place on June 21st, but also on June 23rd and 28th. This free festival will showcase all styles of music from traditional and classical to world music, choral and jazz, electronic and new trends, and will take place in several locations in the city.

MO'BOOTY & TAMBOKA at WYNWOOD YARD

The Rhythm Foundation has been presenting for 30 years international music artists on the occasion of concerts, events and festivals. They will be the partner of the French Embassy’s Cultural Services for the celebration of the Fête de la Musique 2017. During the night of Wednesday, June 21st, they invite you to celebrate the beginning of summer in music, from 7pm to 11pm at Wynwood Yard.

For the opening act, Mo'booty, a psychedelic, surf-noir French-American band, will cast shades of punk over the slowly flooding Miami landscape. 

Tamboka, a musical group inspired by Gypsy and Latin musical traditions will then perform, inviting you to feel, love, live, and vibe with them through the tropical and earthy sounds impregnated in their hands and voices. In Wynwood Yard, be prepared to "free your mind, as your soul follows"!

THE FRENCH HORN AT LAGNIAPPE

The French Horn Collective is an energetic and progressive band that performs an eclectic variety of Gypsy Jazz, Swing, and original French music. Led by Parisian musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer and songwriter Vincent Raffard, the diverse international group consists of five highly talented musicians from a myriad of musical backgrounds and countries.

On the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, they will perform at Lagniappe, a hipster's Brooklyn-styled wine bar hosting live musicians every night. The spacious back patio area will enable you to enjoy your wine and to savor your cheese while listening to French music, a real Parisian experience!

MAKE MUSIC DAY ON LINCOLN ROAD

On the occasion of Make Music DayLincoln Road will invite artists of all generations and musical styles to come together and share their talent to enliven Miami. In addition to busker musicians performing all over the iconic promenade, live music stages will be set up at Euclid Obal and the 1100 blockfrom 5 :35pm, featuring rotating sets throughout the evening.

The Front Yard Theatre Collective will be hosting the stage at 1111 Lincoln with lively intermissions between bands. Free concerts will take place in many bars, restaurants, lounges and cafés along Lincoln road, featuring musicians varying in style but united in a spirit of artistic complicity. The Fête de la Musique - Make Music Miami’s 2017 edition will make you travel from an ambience to another, appreciating many different atmospheres.

FRENCH NIGHT with DANTE ALIGHIERI MIAMI

On June 23rd, at 6pm, the French Division of the Societa’ Dante Alighieri in Miami invite you to come and enjoy a French night with them, on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique.

This event is a good occasion to (re)discover some of the famous French singers and composers, from the 50’s to the 80’s.

Two sets of musical work, followed by 14 songs, will be played with the opportunity to sing at the same time, thanks to a lyrics booklet.

RAMBLING STRING BAND at FOOD TRUCK MUSIC NIGHT

On June 28 at 6pm at the Miami Beach Bandshell,  Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band bring to life music that is woven into the fabric of the United States. Carrying on the tradition of old-time, pre-bluegrass string bands and songsters, they raise the roof with traditional folk songs, fiddle tunes, old-time country, bluegrass, Appalachian music, ragtime, blues, and more.  

Plus, all your favorite food trucks lining 73rd Street and Ocean Terrace. Sunset yoga on the UNIDAD patio. Front Yard Theater Collective hosting the Ocean Terrace Stage. And more…
