France is in the air at the Walt Disney Concert Hall! Composer, pianist, and conductor Thomas Adès will conduct his new audacious program with the LA Philharmony OrchestraDances of Death, which centers around the subject of death including two stagings of French classics by Sibelius and Saint-Saëns. The first allusion to death will be philosophical and perhaps even existential while the second will be comic and serve as a juxtaposition to its precedent. Additionally, Adès’ 2009 cello ensemble Lieux Retrouvés will be featured along with an orchestral accompaniment to finish of this dazzlingly fantastical evening - a spectacle you do not want to miss!

On February 21st, the Walt Disney Concert Hall will host Chamber Music: All-French, featuring String Quartet from Ravel and Debussy, Jolivet's Pastorales de Noël for Flute and Canteloube's Rustique for Clarinet, Oboe and Bassoon. Let yourself carried away by these two powerful perfomances!

February 10th and 11th: Thomas Adès, Dances of Death
February 21st: Chamber Music: All-French
