Mark your agenda, Jain will be back in Los Angeles this month! Jain is a pop singer from the southwest of France that has risen to fame following the release of her album, Zanaka.
Jain's songs are a diary that documents the singer’s life from 16 to 23, as she spent many years abroad in Dubai, Republic of Congo and later Abu Dhabi. With her musical endeavor originating in Congo, much of her songs and rhytms are influenced by Sub-Saharah African music such as Miriam Makeba, Youssou N'Dour, and Oumou Sangare's work.

'Makeba,' the featured song, is a tribute to artist and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba.

During a 2015 interview, the singer-song writer states that the Western African country "really influenced me in every way possible, it's because of these experiences and those travels that I wanted to find a way to express myself [...] I wanted to do something eclectic and open minded and something very hopeful. In Dubai I took some Arabic percussion lessons, in Congo too, so the percussive side is really important in this album".

Success may have arrived overnight, but Jain’s joyous, sun-soaked, rhythm-driven sound had been brewing for years, collecting influences from multiple countries and a myriad of musical genres – Arabic percussion, African rhythms, electro, reggae, soul and hip hop among them.

Jain will be playing on March 21, 2017 at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana and at Troubadour in Los Angeles on March 22, 2017.
