"It takes just a few seconds of listening to Jain to know that you've stumbled on someone special." French singer & songwriter Jain is back in LA and will be performing her joyous, sun-soaked and rhythm-driven songs in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre on November 17th.

Collecting influences from multiple countries and a myriad of musical genres, Jain was an overnight success after her performance at Les Victoires de la Musique, France's version of the Grammys, in 2016. Combining Arabic percussion, African rhythms, electro, reggae, soul and hip-hop, her sound is like no one else's in pop. Zanaka, the title of her debut album, means childhood in her mother's native tongue of Malagasy. The album's 10 songs are a diary of Jain's life from age 16-23, as she moves around the world with her family.

Born in Toulouse, France, Jain began playing the drums at age 7. Not long after, her family relocated to Dubai where Jain discovered the darbuka, a traditional Arabic drum. At age 14, her family moved to the Republic of Congo where Jain met a producer who gave her a software she could use to record herself, and a songwriter was born. Abu Dhabi was Jain's next home, and there she formed a band that performed covers of Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga songs. Lastly, Jain moved to Paris for art school and discovered electro and hip-hop. Jain's rich history and many influences create the carefree spirit and sense of adventure that is at Zanaka's core and her fresh, fun and life-affirming songs show music's power to express as well as initiate emotions
