French pianist Adam Laloum is the feature artist in the second edition of FUSION. Created by the Cultural Service of the Embassy of France as a device for the promotion of young musical talent, the series of concerts by Adam Laloum in Washington, DC is organized in partnership with The Phillips Collection, under the label of Radio France - France Musique, and through a grant from SAFRAN and Steinway & Sons

Adam Laloum received an international recognition by winning 1st Prize at the prestigious Clara Haskil Piano Competition. In 2013 - 2015, Adam Laloum performs Beethoven concerto n°3 with the Verbier Festival Orchestra under Charles Dutoit, and he is the guest of the Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev in Mozart Concerto n°24, and of the Orchestre de Paris under Cornelius Meister in Salle Pleyel.

Laloum will debut at the Berlin Philharmonie in Mozart Concerto n°23 with the Deutsche Sinfonieorchester. Later on, he will perform Brahms Concerto n°1 with Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, and a Schumann Concerto at the Philharmonie de Paris with Orchestre National d’Ile de France under Ion Marin.

Adam Laloum is a frequent guest of festivals and halls including Lucerne Festival, Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron, Festival de Verbier, Klavier Festival Ruhr, Auditorium du Louvre, Wigmore Hall, Bad Kissingen Festival, Tonhalle Zürich, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele, Festival Piano à Lyon, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Festival de Saintes, Festival de Colmar, Zermatt Festival, Festival de Menton, Festival Piano aux Jacobins, Société Chopin de Bern, Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, Théâtre de Vevey, and the Folles Journées in Nantes, Tokyo and Bilbao.

Born in 1987, Adam Laloum started to play the piano at age 10 and undertook his musical studies at the Toulouse Conservatory before debuting at the Paris National Conservatoire in 2002 in the class of Michel Béroff. During his studies in Paris, he had the opportunity to work with prominent artists such as Daria Hovora, Jean Mouillère, Claire Désert, Christian Ivaldi, Ami Flammer, and Vladimir Mendelssohn.

For his performances in Washington, DC, Adam Laloum will present the following program:

Schumann – Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13
(Études Symphoniques, op. 13)

Schubert – Sonata for piano in flat major, D. 960
(Sonate pour piano en si bémol majeur, D. 960)
