Fête de la Musique Brings 4,000 People to Central Park SummerStage

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Bureau Export and SummerStage welcomed nearly 4,000 music fans to Central Park SummerStage on June 21st for free performances from La Femme, General Elektriks, Yael Naim, and CharlElie Couture to celebrate la Fête de la Musique, a global tradition dating back to the early 1980s in France.

In 2016, Fête de la Musique is a major highlight of France Rocks Summerfest. An international festival of music from Paris presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Bureau Export with support from Institut Français and la Ville de Paris, FranceRocks Summerfest 2016 is the first event of its kind, taking place as part of Tandem Paris-New York, a transatlantic cultural partnership celebrating these two cities. France Rocks Summerfest highlights the rich diversity of music from Paris with concerts from the most cutting edge French electro, jazz, world, contemporary, pop and rock artists across multiple venues and parks in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. www.francerocks.com/summerfest2016
