Interview with Alain Buffard

French choreographer Alain Buffard presented his work at this year's APAP festival as part of the 'French Highlights' series. One of his recent pieces Baron Samedi is inspired by the music of Kurt Weill and by Haitian Carnival, and features a cast of six international performers.  Baron Samedi is one of the main gods in Haitian voodoo, and the piece explores transformations and how people become other than themselves. In this video CUNY talk with David Thomson, one of the dancers in the piece, about the process of creating the piece, and working with Alain Buffard.
