Fall Exhibition Highlights In Paris

This fall, Paris celebrates two major artists: Pierre Huyghe at Centre Pompidou and Philippe Parreno at Palais de Tokyo. If you are travelling to Paris, this is a rare chance to see major exhibitions of two of France's most important living artists.

Centre Pompidou's Pierre Huyghe's retrospective presents 20 years of work from the artist. The artist's films, sculptures and installations are presented together allowing viewers to see not only the individual works, but the ways in which these pieces speak to one another.

For his upcoming show, Philippe Parreno will radically transform Palais de Tokyo. Given carte blanche, Parreno devised an exhibition driven by his dialogue with architecture. Including sound, image and performance, and conceived by Parreno as a "total work of art," the exhibition will absorb visitors in a multi-sensory environment. Parreno's show—and its unprecedented format—further solidifies the reputation of a French artist whose works, ideas, and approach exercise considerable influence and have incontrovertibly reshaped our idea of art.
