Barthes Vision

For the centennial anniversary of Roland Barthes, the Institut Français created a website where you can submit pictures on the theme of "Barthes Vision." The website will accept contribution throughout the year!

Roland Barthes, 12 November 1915 – 26 March 1980, was a French literary theorist, philosopher, linguist, critic, and semiotician. Barthes' ideas explored a diverse range of fields and he influenced the development of schools of theory including structuralism, semiotics, social theory, design theory, anthropology and post-structuralism. His vision on those various fields was unique, and the Institut Français gives you an opportunity to submit photographic works that you think are fit to express Barthes' Vision.
