The Festival D’automne à Paris In Full Swing

From September through mid-January, the Festival d’Automne à Paris will be in full swing.

With sixty events in forty locations in Paris and surrounding suburbs, the 42nd edition of the festival presents some of the most intriguing and innovative performing artists from around the world. This year, the festival will highlight Japan, South Africa – with more than one hundred artists - and the U.S.

Since its creation the Festival d’Automne in Paris has been important to contemporary artists in the U.S.  - giving exposure to contemporary dance and theater and influencing generations of artists.  This year, it will present new works and revivals by artists including Trajal Harrel, Trisha Brown, Shirley Clarke, Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, along with a special focus on the work of Robert Wilson, including Living Rooms at Musée du Louvre, a new work The Old Woman, Peter Pan, a collaboration with Berliner Ensemble at Théâtre de la Ville, and the recent revival of Einstein of the Beach at Théâtre du Châtelet.

There will also be a special event entitled Eternity Dress with Tilda Swinton in collaboration with Olivier Saillard from Musée Galliera.

There are also many French artists on the program, from Claude Régy to Philippe Quesne, from Joris Lacoste to Noé Soulier, and Théâtre du Soleil-Ariane Mnouchkine participating in the festival for the first time this year.
