Mos(kit)o Wins Four Awards At Igem 2016 Championship In Boston

This year 5,600 participants across 42 countries took part in the iGEM Competition, the world's premier synthetic biology competition for university and high school students. On October 27-31, iGEM celebrated the achievements of 300 student-led teams as they unveiled their solutions to global challenges by building genetically engineered biological systems with standard, interchangeable parts.

As part of researches on "Design and biology" led by Guillian Graves at ENSCI-Les Ateliers : École nationale supérieure de création industrielle, three design students joined biology, physics, chemistry, and law students to form the multidisciplinary team of the Institut Pasteur-Paris and develop an international project. The team chose to focus on the ways to prevent and avoid some epidemics.

This year-long work led to the development of the MOS(KIT)O kit, and was awarded four times during IGEM 2016 Championship. The MOS(KIT)O team received the Gold Medal, the Best Applied Design Award, the Best Diagnostics Project Award, and the Best Entrepreneurship Award.
