ART²: Radio France Culture's La Dispute in New York
With discussions of popular American television and film and the state of cultural criticism in France and the United States, this week France Culture's La Dispute podcast comes to New York with special guest novelist Amy Grace Loyd. Other guests include Harris Dew, director of programming and promotions at IFC and Columbia University professor Richard Peña, who will look at films like Noah and The Grand Budapest Hotel, as well as the TV shows Girls and True Detective.
La Dispute is podcast (in French) that brings together important cultural figures of all stripes to debate the most pressing issues in the arts. This season, as well as travelling to New York, the program invites one artist, from writers to musicians and architects, as a week-long guest to share what they've been reading, seeing or listening to. Each evening focuses on the guest's picks in a particular discipline: Monday - performing arts, Tuesday - theater, Wednesday - visual arts, Thursday - music and Friday - literature. Guests this season include Isabelle Huppert, Eric Reinhard, Richard Perduzzi, Jacques Audiard, Arielle Dombasle and Claude Levecque, Olivier Cadot and Bertrand Lavier.
