Stay tuned for june events as part of dance2016!

dance2016, a bridge between France and the United States, is built on the long-standing and fruitful relationships between multiple partners on both sides of the Atlantic. Performances, residencies, professional meetings will take place throughout the year.

June 15 - 18, 2016 | Atelier de Paris Carolyn-Carlson, centre de développement chorégraphique
Focus New York | Festival June Events

JUNE EVENTS 2016 edition ends with a transatlantic crossing : four days to (re)discover six artists from NY and Montreal. While some of them are familiar with the festival (Benoît Lachambre, Frédérick Gravel ou DD Dorvillier), others, such as Dana Michel, are performing for the first time. Let's also discover for the first time in France, two performances from Moriah Evans: our guest invited with the complicity of Liz Santoro and Pierre Godard, artists in long-term residency at the CDC.

This program is part of Tandem Paris - New York 2016, a large-scale transatlantic cultural exchange between Paris and New York, organized by th City of Paris and the Institut français, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States and the Embassy of the United States of America in France, with the support of the City of New York.

June 4 - 5, 2016 | La Condition Publique, Roubaix

Festival Latitudes contemporaines | Michelle Ellsworth, Preparation for the Obsolescence of the Y Chromosome

European Premiere, English subtitle in French

Michelle Ellsworth lives and works in New York; this is the first time she is presenting her work in Europe. She is a dancer, choreographer, videographer, writer, artist and web designer. With humor and the detachment of a true scientist, she combines dance with technology, humorously addressing questions of biodiversity and the disappearance of the Y chromosome. In this work she performs with a prodigious energy, revealing to us the world as transformed by the disappearance of the male gender! Based on a series of serious scientific studies, the work may also remind us of some of Buster Keaton’s greatest gags on film.

CAMPING 2016 | Rencontre professionnelle franco-américaine

And this fall Entre Cour et Jardins à Dijon, Plastique Danse Flore à Versailles, Le CND à Pantin, Le Festival d’Automne à Paris, la MC93 à Bobigny, La Commune, centre dramatique national à Aubervilliers, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac à Pantin...
