Opening reception September 13t, 2016 | 7:30-10:00 PM | Los Angeles Exposition Park. 'DISSENT: What they fear is the light' is a group exhibition that explores the changing understanding of privacy and control in a world inundated with surveillance and oversharing and questions issues of visibility and invisibility.

29 years after LACE's seminal 1987 exhibition SURVEILLANCE which considered questions of privacy, constitutional rights and access around uses of technology, DISSENT reopens the debate and explores the new political approach to surveillance, centered arounf terror and security.

DISSENT features newly commissioned works by MPA and Jimena Sarno and works by French artist Christine Rebet as well as by Laura Aguilar, Coco Fusco, Metahaven and Sondra Perry.
