The LaGrange Art Museum presents the exhibit “Energies of Creation”, featuring the seldom seen works of French post-impressionist, Eugène A. Carrière.

Symbolist artist of the Fin de siècle period, Carrière’s paintings are best known for their brown monochrome palette. This exhibition foregrounds the technical and thematic originality of Carrière’s brand of Symbolism and features important works from the world’s most comprehensive personal collection by local physician, Dr. Nick Vlachos, ranging from portraits and images of mothers and children to figure studies and landscapes.

Complementing the Vlachos collection will be select works from the Museum’s Permanent Collection depicting spring time floral and fauna and featuring the watercolors of LaGrange’s beloved mother-of-watercolor, Morrill Turner Hutchinson.

The exhibit is sponsored by SunTrust Bank.
