Delve into the wrenching history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo with Faustin Linyekula/Studios Kabako's Sur les traces de Dinozord at REDCAT from September 28 - 30. Through the riveting choreography of Faustin Linyekula, this performance shares stories of the Congo - from the country's historic struggles to the performers' personal childhood tales.

"There's no walking away from Mr. Linyekula... painful, brutal, live-wire intensity." - The New York Times

Scored with fragments of Mozart's Requiem, metronomic taps on a typewriter and live vocals by rising opera star Serge Kakudji, Sur les traces de Dinozord elegantly nurtures hope in the face of the ongoing legacy of war and ruin in the Congo. Beginning with "Once upon a time..", this poetic and political fairytale follows the performers' personal journeys in search of the essence of their dreams. With exquisite movement and text, they mourn the loss of a friend in the hopes of fashioning a new kind of myth that is a truer reflection of their lives.
