One story’s ending is another’s beginning. As Urban Corps kicks off, Urban Artistry’s International Soul Society Festival closes with the same all-day event in Garfield Park.

The park jam event features live painting, skate-boarding, dance, Capoeira, parkour, music, and more, combining the energy of two urban art festivals in one. Activities and performances include the participation of Urban Artistry, Forward Fest DC, and Company De Fakto and KLP, two of the many dance groups that will take part in the 2013 Urban Corps festival over the following week.

Renovated by Albus Cavus as part of the Open Walls Program, Garfield Park itself is a haven for urban culture. FLOW 2.0 will give urban artists and artophiles the chance to experience this space before it closes for construction in June.
