The Fire Flies (Solos /Portraits) is a series of performances co-written by vogue performers from Baltimore and Paris. Voguing continues to change form today in the United States and more recently in Paris, where it resonates strongly. Over the past three years, Frédéric Nauczyciel explored the performative force of voguing, first as a photographer, then as a video artist and choreographer. “I was moved by the poetics of survival that I encountered, as much as the flamboyant freedom of voguing,” says Nauzyciel. The dance pieces are scenic extensions of his visual work images vivantes. Concept by Frédéric Nauczyciel/House of HMU. Performers Dale Blackheart (Baltimore), Honeysha Khan (Paris), and Diva Ivy (Paris).
