Printed Matter presents the twelfth annual NY Art Book Fair, from September 22 - 24, 2017, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens.

Free and open to the public, the NY Art Book Fair is the world’s premier event for artists’ books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines.

The 2016 NY Art Book Fair featured over 370 booksellers, antiquarians, artists, institutions and independent publishers from twenty-eight countries, and was attended by over 39,000 visitors.

French exhibitors will include: Almine Rech Gallery, Anarchive, antoine lefebvre editions, CLASSIC Paris, Études Books, Jean Boîte Éditions, Lendroit Éditions, onestar press, POURSUITE, RVB Books, Sebastien GIRARD, Siam’s Guy Books.

Students and professors from the French National Art School in Nice, La Villa Arson, will be producing a live daily publication with a zerox machine. This year, as part of the Th-ink Dept and the Marques & Pages program, eight students from Villa Arson go to the NYABF to produce four issues of a daily publication during the fair.

Don't miss The Stampographer by Vincent Sardon, one of the most unusual and original voices in contemporary French culture. His dark, combative sense of humor is infused with Dadaist subversion and Pataphysical play. Sardon also wields the stamp as satirical device, deconstructing Warhol portraits into primary colors and turning into Pollock paint drips.

Vincent Sardon is a radically independent artist in Paris who makes and sells his work in a little shop and studio near Père Lachaise cemetery. He began his career as political cartoonist for the left-wing Libération newspaper. He has an ardent cult following in France following the illustrious comic book press L'Association publication of Le Tampographe, a four-year journal narrating his artistic life and work, which is now in its third print.
