LINKS, a solo exhibition for French L.A. based artist Mambo is the first of Fabien Castanier LA Gallery’s 2017 exhibitions. Since moving to Southern California in 2011, Mambo has developed an outside collection. Links highlights the artist’s paintings, works on paper, three-dimensional pieces and includes a special installation.

Inspired by humanity since 1985, Mambo’s “Brainology” series is at the heart of the Links exhibition, illustrating a cohesively unique study of aesthetics, minimalism and the conceptual foundation that draws each aspect to the other seeking to discover the ways in which art derives its aesthetics and conceptual foundation on the complexities of the brain and the mind. With a particular fascination with the brain’s almost-limitless abilities, Mambo studies the symbolic reflections of synapses that are seen in the world around us: the ecosystem, the social fabric, the internet, and more generally the systems of connection between people, planets, and atoms.

This evolutionary art show speaks to the « mental maps » made by the different types of patterns, functions, and fluctuations accomplished by the brain, representing a thorough research of the overlapping barriers between neural functions and imagination that often disturb the psyche and conscious of each individual. This revealing show speaks to our dreams, realities, horrors - everything and anything that "links" us together in as one cohesive entity, manifested by the existence of the world.
