The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in Los Angeles and the Alliance Française de Denver are proud to present director Guy Ben-Aharon and actor Nael Nacer for a staged reading of Kamel Daoud's prize-winning novel Meursault, Contre-Enquête (The Meursault Investigation).

Considered a literary and historical retelling of Albert Camus' celebrated novel, L'Étranger (The Stranger), Daoud's Meursault, Contre-Enquête gained popularity and was awarded many prizes, including the Prix Goncourt du Premier Roman in 2015. The novel gives voice to the brother of the anonymous "Arab" killed by Camus' main character, Meursault, and examines the seminal work in a post-colonial context.

The reading and discussion will be in French with a reception and a Q&A to follow.
More info & tickets here.
A discussion on the play will take place on April 26, 2017 at Metropolitan State University (Plaza 329) at 9:30 AM. More info here.
