From September 20-23, BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) presents Oliver Py's "Miss Knife" as part of its annual Next Wave FestivalPrior to these performances, as part of Oliver Py's North American tour, "Miss Knife" will be performed from September 14-16 at Usine C in Montréal.

A beguiling chanteuse with a voice of honey and barbed wire, Miss Knife oozes grit, glitz, and old-world glamour. Clad in stilettos and drenched in rhinestones, she's also the alter-ego of polymathic artist and Festival d'Avignon director Olivier Py (Requiem for Srebrenica 2000 Next Wave). Holding court with a four-piece jazz ensemble and a different surprise New York guest each night, she tears through a soul-baring suite of original French avant-cabaret, singing of life in the limelight and love in the shadows.

Music by Stéphane Leach, texts by Olivier Py, and costume design by Pierre-André Weitz.
