With an inspired background that takes the spectator all the way back to its development in the outskirts of Paris, southern France, the Cherry and Martin gallery will be proudly exhibiting the work of Jennifer Boysen and Noam Rappaport in "Supports/Surfaces is Alive and Well" from January 24 through March 4.This will be the second exhibition at the gallery by the unprecedented and talented French group who first came together in 1963 and have produced increasingly avant-garde and alluring works since.

With particular works whose simplicity, harkens make to Minimalism, whose bold color is reminiscent of the Fauvist period of Matisse, as well as whose confrontational presence inevitably connects with Arte Povera, the cohesiveness that gives Supports/Surfaces its zeal is a spectacle that must be experienced!

Working in multiple mediums such as stretcher and canvas, and  paint and paintbrush, this exhibition speaks to modernity, consumerism, and mass media, all of which were particularly observable during the 1960s and 1970s. Several artists associated with the group who will be exhibiting includes André-Pierre Arnal, Marc Devade, Noël Dolla, Daniel Dezeuze, Jean-Michel Meurice, Bernard Pagès, Patrick Saytour, and Claude Viallat.
