The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO, meeting for its 40th session in Istanbul on July 10-20, listed 17 works by pioneering Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier as world heritage sites, calling them a “testimonial to the invention of a new architectural language that made a break with the past.”

The sites, which span seven countries, include:
1- Le Cabanon (Roquebrune, France)
2- Palace of Assembly (Chandigargh, India)
3- Notre-Dame du Haut chapel (Ronchamp, France)
4- Cité Frugès (Pessac, France)
5- Saint-Marie de la Tourette convent (Evreux, France)
