Fall Season at the Metropolitan Opera

September 7, 2012 | By French Culture

French composers and artists are once again in the spotlight for the 2012-2013 season at the Metropolitan Opera. "Faust" by Charles Gounod will be conducted by Alain Altinoglu, while "Dialogues des Carmélites" by Francis Poulenc will be conducted by Louis Langrée.

The fall season will also feature "Carmen" by Georges Bizet and "Trojans" by Hector Berlioz. French opera singers are not left aside, since Natalie Dessay will sing the role of Cleopatra in "Giulio Cesare" by Georg Friedrich Handel, while Karine Deshayes will sing the role of the page Isolier in "Le Comte Ory" by Gioachino Rossini. The Met will also, in collaboration with the Théâtre du Capitole of Toulouse, offer a new version of "La Rondine" by Giacomo Puccini.
