International Residencies in Paris 2016

For the first time ever, the French Institute and the French Culture and Communications Minister are combining their efforts to organize the residency program for foreign artists at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

Biennale de Lyon, 13th Edition

Today marks the opening of the 13th edition of the Biennale de Lyon, which will run until January 3rd, 2016. Since 1991, Thierry Raspail has invited each guest curator to draw inspiration from one such key word that can be applied to happenings in the contemporary art world. Raspail has chosen the word “modern” for this years edition and the entire upcoming Biennal trilogy, which will extend from 2015 through 2019.

Opening of the New Cinémathèque de la Danse in Paris

The new Cinémathèque de la Danse will open on October 3 in Paris. Following the Ministry of Culture’s decision in 2012 to merge the Cinémathèque de la Danse and the Centre National de la Danse (CND), renovations are underway in progress to create a space within the CND which will accommodate the new Cinémathèque, as well as a new projection room. The consolidated cultural center will be a formidable presence in Paris, promoting the art of dance in and around the city.

French Designer Samy Rio Awarded Grand Prix at Design Parade

French designer Samy Rio who was awarded with the Grand Prix of this year's Design Parade at Villa Noailles, for using bamboo to create functional and recyclable designs pieces. His work had previously been presented at Wanteddesign in New York.
