The Higher Education Department of the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France seeks a New York-based intern to assist our team with the promotion of our programs. The department offers a variety of programs supporting the mobility of American students to France as well as initiatives related to French culture on American campuses. This position is open to a student enrolled full-time in an American university. Please note that we cannot accept candidates who have already graduated, high school students, or students who require a visa to work in the United States.


  • Support the Higher-Education officers on the following programs: Thomas Jefferson Fund and Community College in France
  • Draft articles and update information on the French culture website
  • Support the launch of a LinkedIn page for the Thomas Jefferson Fund
  • Research potential fundraising opportunities and stakeholders for international research
  • Update contact lists, databases and support about the project follow-up
  • Help with the design of surveys and communication materials
  • Participate in the planning and execution of events organized by or in partnership with the department


  • Major in French, International Affairs, Communications or any related field of study
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English writing skills—must be native level
  • French language proficiency (B1 minimum on the CEFR scale)
  • Technical skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in higher education and French culture


12 hours per week minimum, 2 to 6 months (depending on your availability)

Starting date: December 1st, 2020

Internship will be conducted remotely or in a hybrid model (based at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy at 972 5th Avenue)
