Manifesta 13 is divided into three different, yet connected, programs that have been created over the past two years and are constantly evolving: the central program Traits d’union.s, the Education and Mediation program Le Tiers Programme, and the collateral projects and events Les Parallèles du Sud (with more than 80 projects in the Région Sud).

The artistic team for the 13th edition of Manifesta included the Moroccan exhibition curator Alya Sebti, currently Director of the ifa Gallery in Berlin; the Russian exhibition curator Katerina Chuchalina, based in Moscow where she is currently Director of Programming at the V-A-C Foundation, in Moscow and Venice; and, the German exhibition curator and artistic director Stefan Kalmàr, current Director of the ICA in London.

FOCUS Visual Arts : a program for art professionnals by Institut français - Paris

The FOCUS program is organized by the Institut français - Paris. The main goal of the Visual Arts FOCUS this year was to promote artists from the French art scene, more specifically from Marseille, and to initiate meetings between artists, curators, and professionals from the art scene worldwide. Various venues involved with Manifesta, museums, institutions, art centers, FRAC, and spaces for contemporary art in Marseille, in partnership with the city and the South region, were also represented in this virtual FOCUS program.
