A Collective Reading:

Bestseller Histoire mondiale de la France  (France in the World, A New Global History) by Historian Patrick Boucheron  is now read every day by actors in France -- from Joana Preiss, Lyes Salem, Marie-Sophie Ferdane, Laurent Poitrenaux, Misha Lescot, among others --  an initiative from Théâtre National de Bretagne, Rennes.

50 significant periods were selected by Patrick Boucheron -- from the Chauvet Cave to events in 2015 --  a collection that attempts to respect a chronological balance between the years -34,000 to 2015. With differents themes, it tells how the time we are living now revisit the past.

About the Book

Published in 2017 by éditions du Seuil in France and Other Press in the US, the collaborative work written by 122 academics surveys 40,000 years of French history and was directed by Patrick Boucheron, a distinguished medievalist at the Collège de France.
