French Story Time with Albertine on Facebook Live

What better way is there to spend Saturday mornings than with a lively reading of an amazing new book? We are thrilled to announce that every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. EST, Albertine's beloved booksellers, Miriam Bridenne and Adam Hocker, will read children’s books in French and English on Facebook Live!

With their colorful illustrations and gripping plots, the selected stories are guaranteed to brighten your weekend, and Miriam and Adam's spirited readings are a must-see!

Calendar

Saturday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m.
Booksellers will read the following stories:
- Magali Le Huche's Roger Chéri (Actes Sud Junior), the story of a boy who can't choose who he wants to be. The book follows not only Roger's transformations into a shining sun, then a lion, then a bird, but also his journey to self-love.
Herodotus the Hedgehog (Eederman's Books) by Jean-Luc Buquet, the story of one curious hedgehog's examinations of life's big questions.

Saturday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m.
Booksellers will read the following children's stories:
Comme un million de papillons noirs (Cambourakis) by Laura Nsafou and Barbara Brun. Adé, a young Black girl, is constantly teased by her schoolmates for her beautiful, thick hair. One day, she asks her mother and her aunts why her hair is the subject of cruel jokes, and they teach her to embrace her natural beauty and love her individuality.
- Jean Gourounas's Something's Fishy (Phaidon Jeunesse), a fun mystery following a grumpy penguin and his struggles while ice fishing.
Le petit déjeuner de la famille souris (L'école des loisirs) by Kazuo Iwamura. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have breakfast in a mouse's home? If so, this is the book for you!
