La Maison Française Annual Gala Benefit

La Maison Francaise of NYU will be hosting its annual Gala Benefit at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life on Tuesday, May 22nd. This event will raise funds for La Maison Française’s program of lectures, readings, conferences, art exhibits, concerts, and special events. Having been the public face of the NYU Center for French Civilization and Culture for over 60 years, La Maison Française is proud to have been able to welcome thousands of literary, artistic, scholarly, and political luminaries for events that are free and open to the public.

This year’s 2018 Gala will honor three guests who will receive the Medal of Honor of the NYU Center for French Civilization and Culture. The honorees are Ambassador Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France to the United States; Elizabeth F. Stribling, Chairman of Stribling & Associates and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the French Heritage Society; and Guillaume Gallienne, renowned French actor and director and Sociétaire of the Comédie-Française.

The Benefit patrons will include Ambassador François Delattre, Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations; Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General of France in New York; Bénédicte de Montlaur, The Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy; and Andrew Hamilton, the President of New York University. The Gala Chairs are Baroness Véronique Bich, Yann Coatanlem, and Stephanie Newhouse.

The evening will proudly be sponsored by Air France, La Réserve Hotel and Spa – Paris, Château de l’Auche Champagne, and Mille-feuille Bakery.
