Albertine Prize 2019 Nominees

Albertine Prize 2019 Nominees

The Albertine Prize, co-presented by Van Cleef & Arpels and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, recognizes American readers’ favorite work of contemporary Francophone fiction that has been translated into English and published in the US within the preceding calendar year.

The Albertine Prize aims to highlight five new works by authors from the many countries where French is spoken, reminding us that languages and literature transcend borders.

This year’s shortlist includes three women and two men who hail from France, Rwanda, Morocco, Mauritius, and Iran. The prize also serves to promote the efforts of the bold publishing houses that strive to bring these authors to American readers.

We invite you to discover and vote for your favorite Albertine Prize shortlisted book before April 30th. Then, join us on June 5th at Albertine Books in New York City, or online via Livestream, for the Albertine Prize award ceremony as we reveal the 2019 winner.
