Anne Simon

Anne Simon is a French artist and illustrator who began her illustrious career as a student at the Beaux-Arts in Angoulême and then at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. In 2004, she received the “New Talent” prize at Angoulême's International Comics Festival.

Simon's first comic book Persephone in the Underworld was published in 2006. She has exhibited her works at the Paris Salon du Livre, is influenced by writers such as Goscinny and the works of Brétecher and Julie Doucet, and is an active contributor to Misma Editions and their magazine, Dopotutto.

Since 2011, Simon has collaborated with psychoanalyst Corinne Maier to illustrate popular graphic biographies on Marx, Freud, and Einstein (published by Dargaud, France, & Nobrow, UK). Also an illustrator for magazines and children's books, Simon lives and works in Paris.
