Sport Friendly: The Field of Diversity!

From now until August 31, join us at the Ambassade de France aux États-Unis to explore an inspiring exhibition celebrating the rich diversity that defines our global sporting community.

In celebration of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris and Pride Month, the National Coordination of the Alliances Françaises in the United States is proud to host an exhibition at the Ambassade de France aux États-Unis. The exhibition, “Sport Friendly: The Field of Diversity!,” aims to showcase and promote inclusivity and diversity within the world of sports.

This collaborative international project, spearheaded by the French artist Emilien Buffard, is supported by the Institut français. It unites 21 Alliances Françaises and Instituts Français across 16 countries, focusing on important themes such as gender equality, disability rights, LGBTQI+ representation, anti-racism, physical diversity, and the fight against school harassment.

In the United States, five Alliances Françaises have actively participated in the project by identifying local inclusive sports leagues and organizing photo shoot sessions. These sessions were conducted in collaboration with local photographers: Emanuel Miranda in Washington DC, Camille Farrah Lenain in New Orleans, D’André Ford in Atlanta, Nicolle Ho in Dallas, and Diana Nassar in San Diego.

The project proudly bears the label “Cultural Olympiad Paris 2024,” aligning with the Olympic values of unity, diversity, and cultural exchange. Through this initiative, we aim to celebrate the power of sports in bringing people together and promoting a more inclusive and accepting world.
