Boulevard des Séries 2020

The 4th edition of Boulevard des Séries will take place from November 30 to December 4, 2020. In light of the current situation with COVID-19 and the time difference between California and France, the program will be conducted online from 7:30am to 11:00am PT (4:30pm to 8:00pm for France).

Boulevard des Séries, co-organized by the Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries of the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles, the SACD (French authors guild), the Institut français, and the WGA Foundation is a program designed to create an intercultural exchange between French TV writers and American professionals.

A group of 8 writers will make up this year’s delegation of French audiovisual creativity, representing its diversity and the plurality of French broadcasters. Over the course of these 5 days of online meetings, the writers will engage with US TV series experts (showrunners, writers, directors, producers) as well as with key industry operators (broadcasters and dominant video sharing platforms). If you want to know more about Vianney Lebasque, Victor Lockwood, Marine Maugrain Legagneur, Joris Morio, Emilie NobletVictor Rodenback, Nicolas Saada, and Noémie Saglio, please read the booklet attached.

The program aims to foster a sharing of experiences between French and American professionals, and highlight French “savoir-faire” in TV series while providing French writers with the opportunity to acquire better knowledge of American production practices. It is also an excellent forum for discussion of the creative methods of both countries, from the writers’ room to shooting or post production.
