Virtual Performance by Jean Michel Jarre for New Year's Eve 2021

On December 31, 2020 at 5:25 pm EST the French DJ and pioneer of electronic music, Jean Michel Jarre will perform live in a 3D visual reconstruction of the emblem of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. This performance celebrates the end of a complicated year and the beginning of a new one full of hope. Known for his large-scale concerts, Jean-Michel Jarre joined forces with the French startup VrOOm to put together an exclusively virtual concert. In partnership with the City of Paris, and under the patronage of UNESCO, the performance entitled "Bienvenue de l'autre côté” will be presented worldwide and is open to all in the form of a free virtual concert. The immersive event will be available on the social VR platform VRChat, accessible via a personal computer or in virtual reality for those who have a VR headset. The feed will also be available on Jarre's social media platforms (Facebook, Instragram, Twitter) via computer, smartphone, or tablet.

The concert will last 45 minutes, during which time Jarre will perform a set of pieces from his album Electronica, Grammy Award nominee, as well as recently reworked versions of his classic songs "Oxygéne" et "Equinoxe". For those who are absent, an audio concert will be broadcast on all music distribution platforms under the title "Welcome To The Other Side - Live" on January 1, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. CET, and in North America on December 31 at 6:15 p.m. EST.
