The Lab: Release of the Handbook on Immersion in Museums

"The Lab: Making Sense of Immersion in 2021" was a series of online collective problem-solving and panel discussions gathering key professionals from the XR and museum industries for game-changing conversations.

From these sessions, inspiring insights have been compiled and transformed into a handbook for museum practitioners and immersive experiences producers.

Join us for a very special online premiere of the handbook on April 22nd, 1PM ET! This event is part of Les Ailleurs, a new French festival on immersive experiences at La Gaîté Lyrique, and our Digital Thursday events on new media.

Our agenda:

- Presentation of the handbook by Diane Drubay, Founder of We Are Museums

What’s next? A selection of initiatives on museums & XR by Emma Buttin, New Media Officer at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States

- Les Ailleurs Festival at la Gaîté Lyrique: a case study of an immersive exhibition in a cultural center. A panel discussion with:

  • Lauren Moffatt, artist. Her new virtual reality artwork, Of Hybrids and Strings, was selected to premiere at SXSW this year and is presented at Les Ailleurs.
  • Ferdinand Dervieux, graphic and interaction designer. He created 10 Millions de Points, an interactive installation, using a cloud of points to create three-dimensional volumes (to see at Les Ailleurs!).
  •  Hosts: Victoire Thevenin & Fabien Siouffi from Fabbula (curation & production of Les Ailleurs)
