About Alain Bonardi

Alain Bonardi is a composer, researcher and director in computer music. He develops his research-creation in mixed music. He is currently working on a cycle of twelve pieces for piano and live electronics which questions the relationship between these two sound worlds. Since 2016, he approaches the universe of the guitar and live music with Fil de Soi. In 2012, the album Liszt Voyageur (Intrada) was released, recorded by the pianist Emmanuelle Swiercz, for which Alain Bonardi composed three pieces as a commentary on works by Liszt. His music is played in concert by many artists such as Pauline Buet, Geoffroy Couteau, Franco Venturini, Emmanuelle Swiercz, etc. He is also active in the field of concert production, participating in the artistic direction of the ensemble Entretemps (1994-1998) and the chamber music concerts Cantabile (2010-2015).

This concert is part of a residency project of French composer Alain Bonardi made possible through the Jazz & New Music, a program of FACE Foundation, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States. It is produced by the Gassmann Electronic Music Studios in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine, directed by Christopher Dobrian.
