Business France Launches Second Edition of French Design Days

Business France, the Trade and Investment Office of the French Embassy, is launching the second edition of French Design Days, a virtual event that will take place May 4th to June 4th. This year's edition will showcase 10 French designers, manufacturers and craftsmen eager to partner with North America-based interior design professionals.


The hand-selected companies produce exceptional furniture, lighting, floor coverings, hardware and textiles. They are eager to export their know-how, develop their presence in US and Canadian markets and connect with interior designers, architects, showrooms, manufacturer’s reps and other professionals on this side of the Atlantic. The month-long event aims to familiarize the high-end furniture and home decor companies with the local interior design market and to offer them opportunities to present their recent collections and start long-term business relationships with North American partners.

Francois-Yves Auger, Senior Trade Advisor & Business Development Manager of Furniture, Home Decor & Lifestyle at Business France says that the event will allow professionals to expand their reach, network and travel virtually despite current restrictions: “With trade shows being cancelled, and restrictions on travelling to certain countries still in place, French Design Days aims to help North American interior design professionals virtually travel to France through design.” 

The Delegation

The delegation includes: Cyria (outdoor furniture), Bignon Dervaux (home linens), DRAKKAR (wood flooring), ENTRELACS (lighting), Galerie Diurne (rugs), LK Edition (furniture), Maîtres Robinetiers de France (bathroom fittings, accessories and hardware), Octavio Amado (lighting), SBALINI by Stéphanie Balini (lighting), and Souchet (upholstered chairs).

How it Works

Participants can review the designers and manufacturer's profiles on the French Design Days website to learn about their products and past international projects. They may then identify which companies they might like to collaborate with on future projects. Finally, during the event they may contact Business France, which will arrange a 30-minute call with the brand.

Event Programming

This digital event begins with a bootcamp during which participants will learn about the programming, participants, sponsors, partners and speakers and will receive tips for preparing video-call meetings. The first week will also feature a round-tablet titled “How to work with American interior design professionals,” a workshop on the business environment in the US and a presentation on professional communication and brand exposure in the US.
