French Connexions : "Video Games in Translation" - Krystel Theuvenin and Stereotypes

Are you interested in video games?

Did you know that the video game industry is expected to be a $175 billion industry in 2021, more than twice the value of the film industry?

For the French Connexions day on "Video Games in Translation", meet Krystel Theuvenin at 11:15am CT and her conference "You Belong Here: How To Overcome Imposter Syndrome".

Krystel is the creator of NYC's first state-approved Career and Technical Education pathway in Video Game Design for high school students. A graduate of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, her passion for games and education has driven her to make the video game industry accessible to all. Now a Faculty Member at the School of Interactive Arts, Krystel works with underserved students to teach them how to make games in Unity and help change the face of the industry.

In 2020 she joined the Urban Arts Partnership as a full-time Faculty member of the School of Interactive Arts!

She will talk about stereotypes in video games and how gendering and degendering can be made.
