4 French Films Selected for the 48th Telluride Film Festival

The 48th Telluride Film Festival (TFF), presented by the National Film Preserve, has recently announced the lineup for its 2021 season. Over 80 feature films, short films and revival programs will be screened, representing a staggering 29 countries. 

Set to take place September 2-6, 2021 in Telluride, Colorado, the year's selection includes three notable French titles: 

  • BERGMAN ISLAND (d. Mia Hansen-Løve, France/Germany/Sweden, 2021) In person: Mia Hansen-Løve
  • PETITE MAMAN (d. Céline Sciamma, France, 2021) In person: Céline Sciamma
  • FLEE (d. Jonas Poher Rasmussen, Denmark/France, 2021) In person: Jonas Poher Rasmussen
  •  A HERO (d. Asghar Farhadi, Iran/France, 2021) In person: Asghar Farhadi

Barry Jenkins, this year’s Guest Director, has also curated the following special selections from France:

  • WEST INDIES (d. Med Hondo, France/Mauritania/Algeria, 1979)
  • CHOCOLAT (d. Claire Denis, France, 1988)

The festival will also include a variety of Tributes, Conversations, Panels, Student Programs, and Festivities.
