"Julio Le Parc: Form into Action" at PAMM

Perez Art Museum Miami (@pamm) presents a colossal solo exhibition showcasing the work of Op and Kinetic Art pioneer artist, Julio Le Parc, entitled “Julio Le Parc: Form into Action.” It is the first U.S. museum survey of the artist featuring over 100 works (produced between 1958 and 2013) that spark a variety of visual and physical experiences. Including major installations and rarely seen works on paper and archival materials, the exhibition is a long-overdue exploration of Le Parc’s central role in twentieth-century art history.

About Julio Le Parc:
Julio Le Parc (b. 1928, Mendoza, Argentina) is a central and influential figure in participatory kinetic art. In 1958 he obtains a grant from the French Cultural Services to travel to Paris, where he creates the Fondation du GRAV (Groupe de recherche d'art visuel / Group for research in visual arts) with artists Demarco, Garcia Miranda, Garcia Rossi, Vera Molnár, Morellet, Mayano, Servanes, Francisco Sobrino, Joel Stein, and Yvaral, in the pursuit of visual experiences that are a result of in-depth (and at time mathematical) study of light and movement. He has worked in lived most of his life in France ever since. In 2011, for the fourth edition of the Hermès Éditeur project, Hermés commissioned the artist to appropriate its emblematic silk scarf in series of sixty motifs entitled 'Variations autour de la longue marche" inspired by his painting series "La longue Marche" (1974-1975).
