Capturing the Catwalk with Michel Arnaud

Capturing The Catwalk

For the first time ever, the Fidm Museum (FIDM) is exhibiting Capturing the Catwalk: Runway Photography from the Michel Arnaud Archive, exploring French photographer Michel Arnaud’s stunning runway fashion photography! From now until July 7 you have the opportunity to see some of his best highlights of the energy behind runway shows.

Michel Arnaud is a photographer and artist who lived in Paris for an extended period of time. Arnaud specializes in portraits, interiors, architecture, still life, and video production. He commenced this runway photography endeavor in 2000 after his donation of over 180,000 slides to FIDM’s museum. With these, Meghan Hansen, the curator of the exhibition, worked to create a narrative of the evolution and history of runway.

His Capturing the Catwalk collection showcases his runway and fashion photography over two decades as his own personal style evolved along with advances in camera technology. In addition to his photography, the collection will also include dresses, accessories, and special collection objects from the FIDM Museum Permanent Collection.
