A Conversation with Philippe Parreno

Installation by Philippe Parreno

The University of Chicago welcomes internationally renowned artist Philippe Parreno for a discussion and reception. Well known for his installations featured at the Tate Modern in London, Park Avenue Armory in New York City, and Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Parreno's art explores the intersections of technology, art, and time.

While his exhbitions are typically held in locations specific to the installation, Parreno also collaborated with Douglas Gordon on Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait. Filmed on 17 cameras, the full length film depicts the life of French footballer Zinédine Zidane.

In addition to screenings of selected clips from his films, Parreno will discuss his work alongside Ina Bloom of the University of Oslo and Jörn Schafaff of Freie Universität Berlin.

A Q&A and reception will follow the discussion.
