Night of Philosophy 2019: Les Souffleurs

Join us on February 2, 2019, at 7PM for A Night of Philosophy and Ideas, the all-night marathon of philosophical debate, performances, screenings, readings, and music co-presented by Brooklyn Public Library and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

Appearances / Disappearances by Les Souffleurs (The Whisperers)

Created in 2001 by Olivier Comte, Les Souffleurs (a collective of more than 40 artists based in France) whisper poetic secrets into the ears of passers-by, using long hollow canes, which they call “nightingales.” The Souffleurs have performed since 2001 in every kind of place, both outdoors and indoors.

Using tenderness as a provocative approach, Les Souffleurs' aim is to give access to poetry to people who otherwise might not take time to open books in the fast pace world we live in. The poetic commandos adapt to the places and situations, and to the present time.

Schedule during the Night of Philosophy

-7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

-10:30 PM to 11:30 PM

-3:00 AM to 4 AM
